Hi, I'm Maliha!
I take an integrative, person-centered approach that honors each client’s unique experience and supports emotional well-being. With special interests in anxiety, identity development, relational trauma, and multicultural advocacy, I bring a background in teaching, a passion for helping others, and a commitment to lifelong learning into my clinical work.
About Me
I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
In my clinical work, I take an integrative and eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from a range of theories to tailor each session to the unique needs and goals of the individual. My goal is to provide a meaningful and personalized experience that supports growth, healing, and emotional well-being.
At the heart of my work is a person-centered philosophy. I believe that each client is the expert of their own lived experience, and I strive to meet each person where they are today. Together, we’ll co-create a treatment plan that honors your story, builds resilience, and supports your mental, emotional, and relational health. Whatever you're working through, we’ll take it one step at a time—at a pace that feels manageable and right for you.

My clinical interests include emerging adulthood, anxiety, relational trauma, identity development, multicultural counseling and advocacy, and supporting the mental health of immigrants and refugees. As an intern, I am committed to lifelong learning and staying current with evolving research and best practices in the field.

While I’ve spent the last six years living in Central Florida, I’ll always be a Carolina girl at heart. I made the transition from teaching to counseling with the encouragement of my former students, and I bring that same passion for helping others into this new chapter. Outside of therapy, I spend my time working as a pharmacy technician, napping, and going saltwater fishing.
