The Pine Center is a private practice founded in Charlotte NC in 2022 by Kaci Pennington.
The Pine Center is named for the pineal gland (an important feature of the brain) that is shaped like a pine cone. The pineal gland is important for many different functions (mood stabilization, cardiovascular health, etc.), but is most well-known for sleep modulation and melatonin production. The pineal gland is also known as the "third eye" in some traditions because some believe it is a source of perception, universal connection, clarity, imagination, concentration, and intuition - connecting the physical world with the spiritual.
The Pine Center offers a down-to-earth environment with a genuine and authentic approach to mental health care. The priority is ensuring that YOU feel at ease so you can get the most out of your treatment. Clients are always in control of their therapy experience, whether that is what you choose to share, how much you share, how often you meet with your clinician, or the pacing of your treatment. There may be some gentle nudges when needed, but it's my belief that it's vital to create safety when doing deep, healing work. One of the ways we work to create safety is by ensuring you know that you have the final say in your pacing and treatment. You will be met with a human clinician who is ready to show up and meet you where you are. The Pine Center strives to provide a holistic therapeutic approach that is tailored to your unique needs.
